Finca Piedra

Located within the Mahoma Hills in the sleepy railway town of Mal Abrigo is the Estancia Finca Piedra. The warm and inviting hotel sits in 20 hectares of vineyards of a functioning winery.  This rural idyll offers plenty of opportunities for peace and relaxation.  One of the highlights of a stay at the hotel is to sample some of Finca Piedra’s classic and limited edition wines.  For those who want to get active, there are sports activities and horse riding and carriage rides into the hills.  Among the other pursuits guests can take part in are rural treks, bird watching and swimming in the outdoor pool.  All of the comfortable rooms are decorated in a traditional style and come with en suite bathrooms. They are situated in the 1930s main building, and in the old winery and stables. The restaurant, which also has a terrace can accommodate up to 90 diners and serves homemade Uruguayan and European traditional recipes made from the freshest ingredients.  All can accompanied by Finca Piedra’s fine wines.
